Kansas landed the nation’s number one player in the country last year in Andrew Wiggins, and now may be in the running to land this year’s number one player.
According to Mike Oliver, Cliff Alexander’s coach in Chicago, thinks Kansas is the leader to land Jahlil Okafor and top recruit Tyus Jones.
Asked his thoughts on where Okafor and Tyus Jones might land, Oliver said: “I think it’s between Kansas and Duke. From what people in Chicago are saying Kansas is the frontrunner right now.”
If this is the case, KU will have landed three of the top 12 recruits in the country and two of the top five. Such a haul would almost certainly keep Kansas in the national title conversation in 2015 even with the departure of Wiggins.
Still, nothing is for certain when it comes to recruiting. Yesterday ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla tweeted he thought Okafor and Jones were locks to go to Duke.

Okafor is expected to be at Tuesday’s game between Duke and Kansas.
If Okafor and Jones don’t choose Kansas, rumor is KU is heavily in the mix for Alexander and guard Rashad Vaughn. Each are also top 20 players.
