NFL Trade Rumors: Tony Gonzalez (And Everyone Else) Stay Put

There will be no Tony Gonzalez reunion in Kansas City as the NFL’s trading deadline has come and gone without a deal.

Kansas City will have to continue to piece together their passing offense with the weapons they have in place and hope the unit improves as the season enters the second half. Anthony Fasano being healthy again should help and the offensive line should improve, too.

Neither Denver or any of KC’s primary rivals made any significant moves at the deadline either. There was a brief period of time where the Broncos were connected to a potential Jared Allen deal, but that fell through due to the demands coming from Minnesota.

So the deadline comes and goes with only one minor deal.

Thrilling.

What are your thoughts on the lack of trades made around the NFL on deadline day? Is there a player other than Tony Gonzalez you would have liked to see the Chiefs make a play for?

The NFL is always the least active of all trade deadlines. I would’ve been fine with giving up a 1st rounder for Josh Gordon. I’ve also always been a Hakeem Nicks fan. A push for a quality interior offensive lineman would’ve really been nice to me, like Evan Mathis or David DeCastro (who I wanted the Chiefs to draft)

Jordan Cameron. The fact we didn’t make this happen is a tough moment.

    Go Chiefs!
