Keys To The Game for the Chiefs:
- ALEX SMITH: With Smith coming off his worst game as a Chief, he still has some things to prove, despite the team’s 6-0 record. Alex Smith has got to find a way to get the ball down field effectively, and to be able to move the offense on a more consistent basis. By no means throw in the towel with Smith; he is a terrific game manager who doesn’t turn the ball over. It will be tough for Smith to turn things around today against the best pass defense in the NFL. Let’s just see some progress.
- OFFENSIVE LINE: If Smith is going to have a chance to improve this week, the offensive line must keep the disruptive force of nature know as J.J. Watt away from their quarterback. This no easy task but the offensive line must give Smith time to get the ball to his down field threats. Ignore the Texans’ record; this will the best defense the Chiefs have faced. The offensive line MUST have a good ball game.
- ARROWHEAD STADIUM: The Texans are going to throw youngster Case Keenum out to wolves this week. Case Keenum, in his second year in the NFL will be making first start as a pro – in Arrowhead Stadium – against a defense that recorded 10 sacks last week. If the amazing fans at Arrowhead pester Keenum like they did Terrelle Pryor last week against the Raiders, it will be a long, long day for the Houston signal caller. Stay loud, Arrowhead. If you do, the Texans won’t have a chance.
