PUPPIES

” alt=”” />

THREE POSITIVES

1. Defense

Five forced turnovers, held TCU to 2-for-11 on third down, 173 total passing yards (75 on one play). The defense came to play. Too bad the offense couldn’t help them out.

2. James Sims

Sims had 121 total yards of offense. The fumble sucked, but the 121 yards against a really good defense was nice.

3. Beat The Spread

KU was a 24.5 point underdog to TCU and was in it until the end. That essentially means Vegas would win something like 27-3. Not losing 27-3 is nice.

THREE WORRIES

1. Charlie Weis

Play-calling has been awful for the Jayhawks this season. At what point does he hand those duties over to someone else?

2. Mental Game

Kansas isn’t a good team, this much is clear. But they battled more this week than they did against Texas Tech. A change in mentality is needed as much as an upgrade in talent.

Still, the turnovers in key situations, penalties, and miss-plays continue to haunt the Jayhawks. Most of that is not being mentally prepared.

3. Third Down Offense

Two-for-16. Yuck. Yuck, yuck, yuck.
