Kansas City Chiefs Halftime Report: Chiefs 10, Giants 7

Score: Chiefs 10, Giants 7

Team Passing: Chiefs: 152; Giants: 140

Team Rushing: Chiefs: 39; Giants: 42

Turnovers: Chiefs 1, Giants 2

Leading Passer: Chiefs – Alex Smith: 14-23, 152, TD; Giants – Eli Manning: 12-17, 149, TD

Leading Rusher: Chiefs – Smith: 5 carries, 25 yards; Giants – Da’Rel Scott: 2 carries, 19 yards

Leading Receiver: Chiefs – Jamaal Charles: 3 catches, 47 yards; Giants: Victory Cruz, 6 catches, 104 yards, TD

Defensive Note: KC’s defense made just one mistake in the first half and it resulted in the Giants lone score. The pass rush may have only two sacks, but they’ve been very close several other times. There is a sense the pass rush may break out even more in the second half.

Key Play: Tamba Hali gets a sack and forced fumble in the Giants first possession after their touchdown… KC recovers and get the ball inside the Giants 35, but fumbled it right back two plays later.

Verdict on Fox Announcers: It really sounds like Fox doesn’t want the Giants to start 0-4.

PANIC?!: A little bit. Generating points may be an issue for the offense today. Need to get into the 20’s to win.

Final Score Prediction: Chiefs 24, Giants 21

– The Chiefs are 1-4 when Brandon Flowers misses a game. Victor Cruz burned Dunta Robinson, Flowers’ replacement, on a 69-yard touchdown reception for the Giants first score.

– Another game, another halftime where Alex Smith leads the team in rushing. Whatever the Chiefs are doing in to the running game in the first half just is not working. Brutal to watch.

But, hey, at least Charles (7) has more attempts than Smith (5) this time.

– Who in the world is Sean McGrath? Four catches in four targets and a touchdown for the guy who wasn’t on the original 53-man roster. Too bad he got hurt. Do the Chiefs have any tight ends left?

– Three-and-a-half games into the season and the Chiefs defense is still awesome, even with losses to injury. This is starting to become less of a fluke.
