Score: Chiefs 26, Eagles 16

It was over when: After getting pinned at their own five, up just a touchdown, the Chiefs went on an eight minute drive that finished with a field goal. The kick gave the Chiefs a two score lead with under four minutes left in the game.

Player of the Game: The entire defense. An absolutely amazing night for them.

Fun Stat: Five turnovers.

They forced five turnovers, held the Eagles to 16 points, and halted 7 of 10 third down conversion tries. They were absolutely tremendous tonight.

2. Donnie Avery

Seven catches for 141 yards. He was the receiving threat the Chiefs absolutely had to have tonight.

3. Jamaal Charles

20 carries for 92 yards and a TD, 7 catches for 80 yards. That works.

1. Passing Offense

Whether it was protection problems or wide receivers not getting open, Kansas City could not get things going in the air. Which is a strange thing to say considering he threw for 273 yards, but things were very rocky for most of the night.

2. Penalties

Nine penalties for 65 yards. Most of them very silly penalties. That has to get cleaned up.

3. Offensive Line

It wasn’t just Eric Fisher. Branden Albert had two bad penalties and sack allowed. The middle of the offensive line was a problem, too. Was it the short preparation time? Maybe… hopefully.

Kansas City will host the New York Giants at noon a week from Sunday.
