The Pregame: Chiefs Look For 2-0 to the Season in Arrowhead Opener

History: Dallas leads series, 3-6

Weather: 78-degrees, isolated thunder storms (30% chance)

1. Dwayne Bowe

Kansas City is going to need him this week. The bigger the threat he is, the better the chance the Chiefs have to win.

2. Knile Davis and Cyrus Gray

With Jamaal Charles injury, Davis and Gray are going to have to step up when Charles needs a play off.

3. Secondary

Dez Bryant, Miles Austin, DeMarco Murray, and Jason Witten are four different layers of a dynamic passing offense. Sean Smith and Brandon Flowers are going to be tested early and often, while the linebacking and safety groups are going to have to find a way to neutralize Witten and Murray.

Boulevard’s Single-Wide IPA so as to reflect the housing unit of choice for Cowboys fans.

1. Tony Romo‘s Health

Tony Romo is operating with a rib injury due to the blows he took during last Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants. KC needs to find a way to take advantage of his discomfort with a strong pass rush against what is a very average offensive line. The key here will be Dontari Poe replicating his performance from Jacksonville. If that is the case, Romo could have a long, painful day.

2. Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne

The corner combination is much better than what they looked like last week, and that should prove to be true against a week Kansas City wide receiver squad. Kansas City has to find a way to neutralize Dallas’ secondary advantage.

3. DeMarcus Ware

You want to know a matchup that is going to happen a lot? Ware vs. Eric Fisher. You’re kidding yourself if you don’t think Dallas is going to move Ware around to get match-ups against the rookie right tackle. The winner of that battle may determine the winner of the game.
