Know You Knight: Eddie

KC Kingdomis growing at a rapid pace and our goal is to be the best Kansas City area sports site on the internet. Ben and I are pleased to announce we have added another new staff member, Eddie Grier. Eddie will be helping in our effort to expand our Kansas State Wildcat coverage. We are excited to have him writing for KC Kingdom.

Eddie has already published his first article with us, as he wrote a preview for the Wildcats first, ill fated game against North Dakota State. You can read that here.

Like all of the new writers to KC Kingdom, Eddie took a few minutes to answer eight questions so we can get to know him just a little better. Here are Eddie’s answers to those 8 questions:

How did you become a fan of the team you’re covering?

By attending school in Kansas and then attending Kansas State.

I grew up as a Florida Gator fan and probably always will be, but now I’m a Wildcat as well.

I love the Atlanta Braves in baseball.

Where did you grow up and where do you currently live?

I grew up in Stockbridge, Georgia.

What is your college/educational background?

I am currently attending Kansas State University. Prior to that, I attended Barton County Community College, where walked on the track team and ran the 400 meter and 400 x 4 relay team. I also played baseball and football.

What do you do for a living?

I am a student at K-State. I do radio for The Wildcat 91.9 (campus station) and will also be doing things for our TV station ,as well for the rest of the year.

Do you have a family (wife, kids etc.)?

I don’t have my own family, though I come from a big family. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

What do you like to do for fun (sports related or otherwise)?

I enjoy the outdoors and I love trying anything new. I have gotten my self into playing disc golf lately and ultimate frisbee.

What is your favorite sports moment or memory?

Attending my first NASCR race in 2004 is a special memory. K-State winning the Big 12 Championships in football, basketball, and baseball was incredible. The Atlanta Braves winning the World Series on my birthday in 1995 will always be special to me.

What are your least favorite team(s) and why?

I guess it would be the New York Yankees, mainly because they beat the Atlanta Braves, not once, but twice.
