Madden 25: How Do The Chiefs Grade Out?
Electronic Arts (EA) is set to release its newest version of Madden NFL. The best selling franchise is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its original release date in 1988, thus giving it the title of Madden 25.

I grew up playing Madden football with a passion. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a house that had all the newest video game systems, and with those was always a copy of the newest Madden. So around this time every year, I become impatient and go searching to see what the Chiefs roster is going to look like. I like to find out how they stack up, who the best players on the team are and the teams overall rating. So how does the Chiefs roster stack up in Madden 25?
The teams overall:
The Chiefs overall rating is just a 76, which in my opinion is fair. The Chiefs are coming off a terrible season and a front office overhaul. While there is a lot of expectation and optimism, the Chiefs are still considered a mystery to a lot of outside perspectives. The creators of Madden seem to agree about the Chiefs being the second best team in the division. The Broncos are first with an overall of 89, followed by the Chiefs (76) the Chargers (73) and the Raiders (72). Seems pretty fair if you ask me. While I hate Denver with a passion, they do have one of the best rosters in the league, making them one of the best teams to play with on the game.

For the most part, I agree with the player ratings. Jamaal Charles is one of the top backs in the game, with a speed rating of 98. The two that were surprises to me were rookie Eric Fisher, and OLB Tamba Hali. I feel like Hali should have at least stayed in the 90’s range. While his number in sacks did slip a little last year, Hali is still a premier pass rusher in the NFL. Not sure if I agree with his rating.
Rookie tackle, Eric Fisher’s rating was a surprise to me at 84. Minnesota’s 2012 first round pick, Matt Kalil, started with a rating of 80 in last years edition, which speaks volumes on how the creators feel about Fishers skill set. Something else to keep in mind is that, EA does roster updates every few weeks once the season starts. If a player is having an excellent season, EA is likely to up the players ratings.
The Chiefs have a talented roster which should make them a solid team to play with on Madden 25. With Alex Smith, the Chiefs should have a solid passing attack unlike when the team had Matt Cassel the last few years. With three players in the mid to upper 80’s on the offensive line, it should be easy to run the ball with Jamaal Charles. The defense has enough talent to create turnovers which, just like real football, are crucial when playing opponents in madden.
