KC Headlines: Lunch Links, Eric Fisher, MOOOOOOOOSE, Sharks

Sam Mellinger gives you the breakdown of George Brett’s decision to resign as Royals hitting coach.

The truth is Brett just didn’t have it in him anymore. The energy. The drive. The tingle in the nerves that every player and every coach talk about needing to tackle the big-league life.

Eric Fisher has signed his contract and is now in camp. Our national nightmare is over.
Football is aiding St. Joseph politicians in trying to develop a better brand to sell to other communities.

St. Joseph Mayor Bill Falkner and Kansas City Mayor Sly James are hosting a first-ever golf tournament Friday, the opening day of training camp, that has the potential for bringing their two communities closer together.

Consider that Mayor James and other visitors from his city will be making a sizable commitment of time to come here for a day of golf, charitable fundraising and socializing with St. Joseph civic and business leaders they may barely know. Consider that it fell to Mayor Falkner, as the junior partner in this relationship, to take the initiative, extend this invitation and hope for the best.
