Chiefs “Ready To Go”

The Associated Press’ Dave Skretta says Andy Reid reiterated that general manager John Dorsey is running the draft and Kansas City is ready to go.

When John Dorsey was hired in January there was some questions about how the draft would be handled and what the role of Reid and Dorsey would be when it comes to acquiring players in free agency and the draft. It would appear from these comments that Dorsey will be in charge of selecting players over the next three days but I think it is safe to assume Reid had some influence in creating the big board the Chiefs are drafting from.

Dorsey has an excellent history in the draft with the Green Bay Packers, selecting players like Jordy Nelson, Jermichael Finley, B.J. Raji, Clay Matthews, and Randall Cobb since 2008. He has found great late round values in James Starks, Marshall Newhouse, Brad Jones, and Josh Sitton as well, so he is not just a guy who hits big in the first few rounds. Chiefs fans should be comfortable with Dorsey guiding the ship for the next few days.

On last nugget, Dorsey has selected a offensive or defensive lineman in the first round of the last four drafts and it appears he is on the verge of making it five straight.
