Things were not so grand for Rio Adams at Kansas it appears.
Bill Self officially announced Jayhawk guard Rio Adams will be leaving the program after just one season at Kansas. The former four-star recruit averaged 1.1 points and 0.3 assists per game in a only a handful of minutes at KU. Adams was a considered the 22nd second best shooting guard in his class by Rivals.com and was a top 100 player.
Adams had been upset with his playing time since Kansas’ loss to TCU in February after venting on twitter about his use. Some thought Adams would stay after he deleted his tweets and posted these remarks:
@jhawk0505 I’m not going nowhere I belong here I’m not playing because we have more experienced players that have been here before me

Obviously, he’s had a change of heart since then posting on twitter his decision to leave.
“I’m transferring to another school and will be getting released Tomorrow…” Adams wrote. “I love this team no matter what !!! I’ve learned a lot here!!”
He has since deleted the tweet but this one still remains.
Love me or hate me I have to do what’s best for my situation…

Even though Adams played only a few minutes at Kansas he still was well known by Jayhawk fans for his antics on the sidelines, most notably his odd “old man eating soup” routine in the Big 12 tournament.
Kansas should still be okay at guard for the 2013-2014 season. The Jayhawks return Naadir Tharpe and Andrew White for next season while adding heralded recruits Wayne Selden, Conner Frankamp, and Frank Mason. KU is still in on wing player Andrew Wiggins though most think he will go to Kentucky.
