Know Your Knights: Nathan

This weekend, KC Kingdom welcomed a new knight to our round table. Nathan Edwards is that knight and Ben and I are pleased to have him joining our team. Nathan will be covering Sporting KC in the coming months, with maybe some articles on his beloved Wildcats as well. We are excited to to bring our audience a more steady diet of Sporting KC news, analysis, and game recaps. Nathan is still working through the setup process and hasn’t published his debut article yet but he did take some time to answer the same eight “biographical” questions that the rest of us have done along the way. Get to know your newest knight:

How did you become a fan of the team you’re covering?

I have always been a big fan of soccer and having followed a team in Europe for years I decided I needed to begin supporting my home town club so went to a few matches and shortly after bought my first season tickets and have loved Sporting KC since.

Where did you grow up and where do you currently live?

I grew up between Salina and Halstead, a small town outside of Wichita and currently live in Dublin, Ireland.

What is your college/educational background?

I graduated from Kansas State University in 2012 with a BA in Political Science/International Studies and a minor in Geography and am currently a graduate student at University College Dublin for International Relations.

What do you do for a living?

I am a full time graduate student.

What is your family situation (wife, kids, etc.)?

I am single.

What do you like to do for fun (sports related or otherwise)?

I enjoy traveling, visiting microbreweries and writing my beer blog. Also, I love to attend nearly any sporting event.

What is your favorite sports moment or memory?

My favorite sports memory is watching K-State beat KU for the first time in Bramlage during my freshman year at Kansas State.

What are your least favorite team(s) and why?

My least favorite sports teams are the University of Kansas because I have grown up a Kansas State fan and naturally came to dislike them, and Swansea City because I’m a huge supporter of Cardiff City.
