About last night…
The Royals came away with another spring training win, this time a 4-2 victory over Seattle. Ervin Santana dominated, striking out seven in only four innings of work. Billy Butler and Mike Moustakas each had run scoring hits in the win. Before the start of the game, Ned Yost announced Luke Hochevar would be moved to the bullpen.
The Big 12 and SEC basketball tournaments started up with Texas Tech, Texas, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State advancing in their respective brackets. Kansas will get things started for the local schools at 2 p.m. against Texas Tech, followed by Kansas State playing Texas at 6 p.m. Missouri will finish things off at 9 p.m against Texas A&M.
The Chiefs lost Glenn Dorsey but added wide receiver Donnie Avery in the second day of free agency. The biggest Chiefs news might have come from Denver when they announced they had signed wide receiver Wes Welker.
Kansas City also made official the signings of Chase Daniel, Mike DeVito, Dunta Robinson, and Anthony Fasano, while also consummating the Alex Smith trade. Andy Reid says he intends to make Smith a Hall of Fame quarterback. I won’t complain if he succeeds.
